New Decor

We have finished decorating our living room. Scott wanted a newly decorated room for his birthday. Really that is just his way of saying let's use something we were going to purchase anyway as his gift and kill two birds with one stone. He is not one that really loves getting gifts. He is more of the giving kind. We went to Thomasville and picked out all our furnishings and the only thing he really liked was a leather chair. You will notice that it is not in the picture. I just had to have some continuity in the room and I traded it out for a chair that matched the sofa. I feel bad but I just had to have something match. I promised him I will get him a big leather chair for our family room. He was a good sport and hid his disappointment well. He was also very patient when I told him I wanted to put down hardwood floors too. They are so pretty and make the room very elegant. I love them. They were certainly a bigger job than I ever thought. We had to get the floor ready and then when the staining and sealing process began we had to spend a night in a hotel. Our house was quite smelly for some time. But again, well worth it because they really are so pretty. I just have to finish accessorizing and it will be complete. I am taking my time with the accessories. I want them to be my taste and it takes time to find little treasures to put around. The room turned out beautifully and should last us for many many years.
